Venola For The Future

I am a nearly 20-year veteran educator driven by my belief that every student deserves a high-quality education that can afford them opportunities to lead and contribute to the world as they transition into adulthood.  From my perspective,  the school district is a cornerstone of the community and it is evident that the quality of a community’s schools directly affects local property values, economic development, and crime.

Proud Parent

As a proud parent of a District 6 kindergartener, I am deeply invested in the success of the DeKalb County School District. We plan to be a part of this community through my son’s high school graduation and I am acutely aware that his educational triumphs are inextricably linked to the success of the school district. Consequently, the hopes, dreams, and aspirations that I have for the students in DeKalb County mirror those that I have for my own son.

DeKalb County School District

Dekalb County School District, like most districts in our country,  is facing the daunting and unprecedented challenge to support and protect students, teachers and faculty since its doors closed in the spring of 2020 due to Covid-19.  Even as we stagger along the road to recovery, students continue to play catch up to minimize the impact of the loss of learning during that time.  Now, more than ever, there is an urgent need for us to address these learning gaps through rigorous instruction and attention to the social and emotional well-being of our students as well as the adults who tirelessly serve them daily.
